Setup and implementation of a production system

Your objective:

The production system of the automotive manufacturer Toyota, which is also active in other sectors, has to be analyzed in order to derive potential for the Forschner Precision Turned Parts division. On this basis, a new production system has to be set up in its entirety – and to a large extent implemented as well.

Your tasks:

  • Extensive research into the Toyota production system
  • Evaluation of possible solution concepts
  • Constructive elaboration and documentation of the production system for the Forschner Precision Turned Parts division
  • Drawing up of training documentation, planning and implementation of employee training courses

Development of a protection concept for fluid-bearing hoses in an exhaust gas treatment system

Your objective:

To fulfill the EURO 6 norm, carmakers are relying increasingly on exhaust emission treatment using the aqueous urea solution AdBlue. To guarantee the functionality of such a system even in low temperatures, the polyamide hoses used in it are electrically heated up. Especially in the region of the connectors, these hoses have to be protected against the type of environmental influences that arise underneath a motor vehicle. The aim of this project work is to check the protection concepts currently being used for fluid-bearing hoses in an AdBlue exhaust gas treatment system and to develop a new protection concept that reflects the technological state of the art.

  • Preliminary experiments at selected suppliers
  • Constructive elaboration of the solution concept

Further development of connection technology between two fluid-bearing plastic components from an AdBlue® exhaust gas treatment systems

Your objective:

To fulfill the EURO 6 norm, carmakers are relying increasingly on exhaust emission treatment using the aqueous urea solution AdBlue. To guarantee the functionality of such a system even in low temperatures, the polyamide hoses used in it are electrically heated up. For better assembly, the hoses are equipped with quick connectors.

The aim of the project work is to test the current adhesive technology between the quick connectors and the hose, and to compare it with the technological state of the art. After this, preliminary experiments for alternative connection technologies will be performed and evaluated. Here the main development priority is process reliability and the costs of the new method.
